Last Pregnancy Photo

I intend to write out a blog about my whole birthing experience in the next couple of days (don't worry, nothing too gross or intimate...) but it's certainly nap time at the moment. In the meantime, I thought I would post the last photo taken of baby Colette in the belly. This was about 4 hours into early labor. 40 weeks + 6 days.

Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween! I have about fifteen 55 gallon tubs of Halloween decorations to prove it. Unfortunately there is very little Halloween spirit/decorations in the Taylor household this year, but that's okay. It'll just be more exciting next year with a little girl who will be into everything!

Cory put together the bookshelf for the nursery last night so I was finally able to finish putting things in their place. As soon as we get the new fan up this weekend I'll take some photos for your viewing pleasure!

For now, here's a baby bump (or .. more like mountain now) photo.

I think I definitely feel pregnant now. The first 37 weeks were a breeze and I really have nothing to complain about. But as of Tuesday, I'm thinkin' she definitely wants outta there. No braxton hicks that I've noticed, just sharp pains when I sit or lay down that feel like she's using talons to burrow into the ole pelvis.

We're so close to the end/beginning! Hopefully nothing crazy happens between now and Sunday. We're having our driveway concreted and our cars are currently at the very end which is about 2.5 football fields away and surrounded by dark scary woods and a cemetery...

33 Weeks Pic

A busy and successful Saturday.

My dearest husband has been working in the yard all day. We've decided to tear everything out of the front beds and just completely start over.

Here's the before pictures I took a couple of months ago.

As you can clearly see, all the bushes are trying to take over the house. (And in case you're curious, those things on our roof are solar panels made to help heat our water.... not currently in use.)

It's allllllll coming out. And here's a quick shot I took with my phone a few hours ago.

Love his heart, he's going to be sore tomorrow. No more bushes.. except the two rose bushes at the stairs. The monkey grass is still there for now. I think we'll be transplanting that to edge some of our trees. There's a ton of monkey grass.

While Cory has been doing all that, I've been reclaiming the front porch from spiderwebs and trash. I also started reclaiming the sunporch in the back by taking down the christmas trees I had in there and sweeping it out. We've got an old mattress set in there we need to get rid of before we can completely reclaim that.

Annnnd I took a couple of bump pictures last night before our date night. (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.. and, yes, we were the only people without kids in the theatre. )

Enjoy!

Look! I can still get my feet off the ground! :) And, in the event that you didn't notice... I've become to lazy to write on the chalkboard. Photoshop from here on out. I don't know why I didn't think about doing that before.

23 Weeks Pic

It's been a few weeks, thought it was time for another picture for the blog! There's no question I've packed on a couple baby pounds now! She seems to be swimming around quite a bit in there. Cory got to feel her a few days ago and that was pretty exciting.

Thanks goes to Billy Madison for the chalkboard quote today.

We went to Babies R Us and Target this week to get started on the registry and it was terribly overwhelming. I think we did a pretty good job. I'll be going back and forth comparing lists for a while, I'm sure, but definitely a good start. It's crazy to think that in just a few short months Colette will be here. Time has just flown by..... And there's still so much to do! Ahhhh! The nursery is officially cleaned out and ready for that paint. I'm going today to find some new light fixtures to be installed when the electric is done. I'm very ready to put the crib together and get started on the real decorating... just gotta get the paint on the walls first.

In other news, my dad will be up this weekend. We'll have a booth for Schultz Studios at the Pink Bridal Show at the Chattanooga Convention Center on Sunday. If you're planning a wedding, it's probably the place to be. Free food and swag. I'd go even if I wasn't getting married just to get all the free stuff!

I think that's all for now friends! Have an excellent weekend!

17 weeks pic

Ahhh, the inevitable lull in communication. Sorry about that. I'm pretty proud of myself for posting every thing I have so far without being forced. Certainly a first for one of my blogs.

But to make up for the lack of posts, here's some pictures from today, 17 weeks and 6 days. I'll also make another post in a day or so about some pretty sweet books.

Definitely showing now. I still don't have "cravings" for anything in particular, but here's a few things I enjoy at the moment. I know from these pictures it looks like I only eat junk food, but I promise that's not the case.

Breakfast generally consists of 2 eggs with a little cheese in a tortilla with a side or pear slices or plums.

Lunch varies. This week I've been eating baked potatoes with sour cream and bacon or a veggie tray with carrots, broccoli, a cheese slice and some almonds.

And dinner is even more varied than lunch. Tacos, pasta, etc.

All these snacks are just what I munch on occasionally in my spare time ;)

A few trips coming up in the next few weeks (Oregon,South Carolina, Florida...), I'll be sure to post about those as well.

Cheers!

14 Weeks Pic

14 weeks and 6 days to be exact. So... it's more like 15 weeks. Oh well. I'll get on track with these one day.

[caption id="attachment_330" align="aligncenter" width="560"]That bump is there, I promise. That bump is there, I promise.[/caption]

Admittedly, it is quite a small bump. But a bump is a bump.

I'm so glad it's a holiday weekend AND that Cory and I will be home for the duration of it. This is our first weekend at home since the middle of April and we've got a whole lot to do while I can still help do things.

On the list for this weekend are the following tasks:

  • Finish the laundry

  • Finish mowing

  • Clean the kitchen

  • Clean out the garage - we ordered a big dumpster that's being delivered today. It's going to be quite the undertaking. Look for home improvement pictures to come.

  • Organize the den - we got some new couches from one of Cory's coworkers and they're great. So we're getting rid of the old ones and officially making the den where we spend our time. We have a 'living room' that we do this in now, but we're moving the big TV out and making it more of a formal space. We'll also be moving all of our office equipment into the den, so we'll basically only have to leave it to get food and sleep. Again, look for home improvement photos in the future.

  • Clean out the sun porch - not a huge deal. The outer door has been cracked open for the last few weeks, so now there's a lot of spiderwebs and such residing in there. Time to make those disappear.

  • Pick up trash (inside and out)

  • Prep office for the move - I currently have a conglomeration of miss-matched desks that make up my workspace, so I ordered a new one that should be delivered Tuesdayish. So I'm going to get everything ready to move out. Cory can go ahead and move his stuff out when he's ready. We need to clean out the closet in there too. And once that's done it's ALL ready for Baby Taylor's nursery to start being assembled!

Hopefully most of this can be done and out of the way. We've got someone coming to take a look at the electric next week too. I'm so glad we're getting a move on things.

Oh and I don't know if you've noticed, but I also added tabs for crafts, home improvement, and cooking. I'm hoping to get started on some of those things very soon!

Hope everyone has an excellent Memorial Day Weekend!

12 Weeks Pic

Hot off the presses. Here's a couple from 12 weeks. I couldn't decide between goofy or normal... so I went with both! No real baby bump yet, though. At our 12 week appointment I had lost a little more weight, but you kind kind of tell where the baby is pushing up which is starting to make my food belly stick out a little more. Pleasant.

Also, why did no one tell me about maternity shirts before now? They're the most perfect shirts ever. I plan to wear them forever, pregnant or not.

10 Weeks Pic

[caption id="attachment_253" align="aligncenter" width="560"]10 Weels Along 10 Weeks Along[/caption]

Well here's the first one! No bump yet, but maybe a little bloating. ;) Initially, the chalkboard was a great idea (not exactly original..... but I like it anyway). And then I started lettering....and wiping it off.. and re-lettering... By the time I got to the "0" in 10, I was ready to find a new, and much easier idea. But alas, I had all these supplies, so I barreled through it anyway and I'm moderately happy about the outcome.

These photos will come every 2-3 weeks depending on how patient I'm feeling. Doing them every week would get monotonous and I would run out of typefaces (ones I can almost draw, that is..) fairly quickly.

The plan is to put them all into a book at some point, with other things like the sonograms, poems, craving, etc.

That's all for now folks. :)
